Armourmania
Creative Director, Stylist, Layout Designer

From Armour. Magazine’s Issue 33 Superfulous, Armourmania is a bold editorial inspired by the high-impact aesthetics of ‘80s and ‘90s wrestling magazines like WWF Magazine. The design embraces punchy typography, vibrant colors, and energetic, off-kilter angles to capture the chaotic spirit of the ring. Featuring dynamic in-match photography of three fictional wrestling stars, the editorial’s visual experience mirrors the drama of theatrical, WWE-style wrestling.

Co-creative directing Armourmania with Maeve Collins was an exciting and immersive process. Collins and I conducted on-site research at the South Broadway Wrestling Gym in St. Louis, soaking in the spectacle of live matches, dramatic personas, and flamboyant costume design. This energy carried into shoot-day, where we enouraged our models—Leopard Lady Liza, Punk Rock Rhiannon, and The Heartbreaker—to channel intense emotion and fully commit to the confidence and strength of their characters. With Survivor’sEye of the Tiger” pumping on set, our shoot atmosphere was charged, playful, and full of larger-than-life energy.
